"Preparing for Passover" is the
theme of a number of classes. On
Shabbat morning, April 1, Kolel
Moshe's weekly "Stay and Learn
on Shabbat" series will feature
Allan Gale, associate director of
the Jewish Community Council,
offering "Insights on Passover-
Beyond the Seder Rituals." This
free, drop-in weekly series runs
for one hour and begins at 12:30
p.m., following Shabbat morning
services and kidduqi.
A four-part Shabbat morning
adult Hebrew class focuses on
"Haggadah Hebrew Highlights."
This class meets in the B'nai
Moshe library from 10:30-11:30
a.m.; basic phonetic Hebrew
reading ability is required.
Rabbi Elliot Pachter will teach
about "Passover Midrash" on
Sunday, April 2, at 10 a.m. The
same material will be repeated
on Monday, April 3, at 5 p.m.

A seder workshop titled
"Create Your Own Sizzling,
Sensational Seder!" will take
place on Wednesday nights,
March 29, from 7:30-9 p.m.
On Monday, April 3 at 11 a.m.,
Kolel Moshe will present "The
Cantor's Listening Room" with
Hazzan Earl G. Berris.
Kolel Moshe will offer com-
plimentary copies of "Nehama
Glogower's Master Passover 'Plan
— How to Prepare Your Home
for the Holiday without having
a Major Meltdown." Single cop-
ies of the plan may be picked up
at no charge at the B'nai Moshe
synagogue office, 6800 Drake
Road, West Bloomfield, during
regular office hours (Monday-
Thursday 9 a.m,-5 p.m.; Friday,
9 a.m.-1 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.-
noon).

On Monday evening, April
17, Kolel Moshe will present
"The Cantor's Listening Room
— Special Passover Edition'," fea-
turing Cantor Berris from 7:30-9
p.m. Also on Monday night, April
17, Kolel Moshe will launch a
six-part spring adult learning
series titled, "Prophets for Profit
— Their Lives and Times / Our
Lives and Times" taught by com-
munity educator Barry Levine.
This series will meet for six
weeks on Monday nights from
7:30-9 p.m.

New Shabbat Ideas

The Adat Shalom Synagogue
Sisterhood will present "From
Soup to Nuts — Shabbat in
Style" beginning at 7 p.m. on
Thursday, March 30.
Highlighting the event will be
presentations on kid-friendly
cholent by Jordana Weiss,
Shabbat ideas and songs by Lisa

Soble Siegmann, creative table
decorating by John Gerych and
challah with a new twist. Light
refreshments will be served.
There is a $5 charge. The com-
munity is welcome.
Chairing the evening will be
Lisa Betman of West Bloomfield
and Debra Bradley of Walled
Lake.

Healing Service

Adat Shalom Synagogue will hold
a healing service at 7:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, April 4. Led by Rabbi
Herbert A. Yoskowitz, Cantor
Yevsey Gutman and Adat Shalom
Music Director Dan Shere, the
synagogue's healing services are
designed for those who long for
a greater sense of spirituality or
have concerns related to grief,
physical or emotional illness, or
change. The services take place
in the main sanctuary.
The community is welcome.

Passover At Beth El

Temple Beth El will begin its
Passover observance with a
Tot Shabbat program Saturday,
April 8. Babies, toddlers, kids,
parents and grandparents will
learn about Moses, miracles and
matzah at the 9:30 a.m. service,
which will be followed by snacks
and crafts at 10 a.m.
The congregation and guests
will mark the holiday at the
family seder Thursday, April
13, at 6 p.m. The cost is $35 for
non-member adults and $22 for
non-member children. There is
no charge for children younger
than 5 not ordering a meal. For
