Temple Emanu-El will welcome
Cantor Ellen Dreskin as its scholar in
residence the weekend of March 31.
Cantor Dreskin is the director of pro-
grams for Synagogue 2000, a national,
not-for-profit institute. She serves
as the associate
dean of Hebrew
Union College-
Jewish Institute of
Religion.
During her
weekend at
Temple Emanu-El,
she will partici-
pate in two wor-
ship services: Erev Ellen Dreskin
Shabbat, March
31, at 8 p.m. and at Saturday services,
April 1, at 10:30 a.m. Both services
will involve music and midrash; the
Saturday morning service will include
an interactive Torah service.

At the lunch and learn on Saturday
at 12:30 p.m., she will discuss "The
Kaballah: Impact of Torah-based
Mysticism on our Lives Today." She
will headline a musical cabaret at
Temple Emanu-El on Saturday night,
April 1, at 8 p.m., featuring Jewish
music, jazz and show tunes. The
cabaret will feature Steve and Caitlin
Klaper and Judy Lewis, all local musi-
cians and Temple members.
The cost of the concert is $10 per
person or $18 for patrons. Contact
