r. Victor A Kelmenson, 91, of
West Bloomfield, died March
19, 2006.
He was a highly decorated veteran
of World War II. Despite being a physi-
cian and noncombatant, he received
two Silver Stars for bravery, driving a
jeep into areas with snipers to pick up
wounded American and German sol-
diers.
He moved to Detroit with his late wife
Lillian after his discharge from the ser-
vice in 1945. He joined, and later owned,
a medical practice on 12th Street in the
heart of the city. He was a respected
physician who practiced pulmonary
medicine and also provided care_ for
the general community in the area. He
was a key part of the initiative to close
tuberculosis sanitariums after the intro-

76, of Northville, died March
19, 2006. He received his doctor
of dental science degree from
University of Detroit Dental
School, and he served as a medic
in a Mash Unit during the Korean
Conflict, receiving a Purple Heart.
In private practice, in Warren, Dr.
Aronwits was also a full profes-
sor of dentistry at University of
Detroit and was chairman of
clinical diagnosis at University
of Detroit-Mercy. He was also a
member of Alpha Omega fra-
ternity and
Omicron Kapta
Upsilon, a
fraternity for
academic excel-
lence.

to the city of Detroit at Herman Kiefer
Hospital, working with the Wayne County
Respiratory Disease control authority.
He was honored by the American Lung
Association for his lifetime anti-smok-
ing efforts. In his later years, he helped
start the Family Practice Department at
Providence Hospital and was a mentor to
young residents in training.
Victor and Lillian were a devoted and
loving couple for 54 years of marriage.
They were world travelers; visiting every
corner of the globe and every continent
except Antarctica. He had a broad range
of knowledge that he loved to share,
especially with his eight grandchildren.
He was fortunate to retain his mental
alertness, intelligence and sense of

ALBERT BLATNIKOFF, 87, of
Davisburg, died March 27, 2006.
An economist for the govern-
ment at the War and Tank Plant,
he retired in 1988. Previously, Mr.
Blatnikoff had been an economist
in Import/Export Division for
Chrysler. He received his master's
in international economics at
University of Michigan and he
was a navigator in the Army Air
Corps during World War II. Mr.
Blatnikoff was an active member
of Temple Beth El and its brother-
hood.
He is survived by daugh-

BERNARD GOLDMAN, 83,
of Fountain Hills, Ariz., died
March 22, 2006. Born in Toronto,
Canada, he immigrated to the
United States as a child and Was
a longtime resident of Bloomfield
Hills.
A veteran of World War II,
he served for 14 months on
Guam with the 21st Bomber
Command in the South Pacific.
