Texas, died Jan. 25, 2006. He was a fur-
niture salesman.
Mr. Sperber is survived by his wife,
Rae Sperber; son, Andrew Sperber of
Florida; daughter and son-in-law,
Caroline and Ken Ramage of Texas;
granddaughters, Madeline and
Amanda Ramage; sister, Pearl Kalt.
Interment at Beth Abraham

ABRAHAM STEINBERG, 84, of
Farmington Hills, died Jan. 26, 2006.
He was sheet metal worker for
Superior Heating and a member of the
Jewish War Veterans.
Mr. Steinberg is survived by his
wife, Edith Steinberg; sons and daugh-
ter-in-law, Martin and Lynda
Steinberg of West Bloomfield, Steven
Steinberg; daughter and son-in-law,
Jacki and Robert Crafton of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Karen and
David Alspector, David Steinberg,
Lesley Miles and Matthew Miles.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

DR. SANFORD A. WALDON, 85, of
Seal Beach, Calif., formerly of West
Bloomfield, died Jan. 23, 2006. He was
a dentist with offices in Detroit and
Southfield. He was also active with
Congregation Shaarey Zedek West
Bloomfield, B'nai Israel Center and
the Grand Traverse Regional Land
Conservancy.
Dr. Waldon is survived by his wife of
62 years, Betty Jane Waldon; daughters
and sons-in-law, Joanne and Stewart
Arft of Dexter, Barbara and Larry
Jackson of California, Linda Waldon
and Robert Oblon of California, Karen
and Alan Meyer of Britton; grandchil-
dren, Brian and Angela Arft, Carl Arft,
Dustin and MaryEllen Jackson, Aaron
Jackson, Amanda \Valdon, Kelly
Murphy, Sara Murphy, Michael
Murphy; great-grandson, Matthew

GEORGE WEINGARDEN, 84, of
Southfield, died Jan. 24, 2006. He was
commercial and residential building
contractor throughout the metropolitan
area who was instrumental in building
many synagogues. Mr. Weingarden was
also active with Congregation Shaarey
Zedek and was in charge of morning
minyan services along with caring for
the religious books
and shopping.
He was a past
president of
Yeshivat Akiva
and, for many
years, was active
with Meals on
Weingarden
Wheels. Mr.
Weingarden was
treasurer of home association, a
Mason and Shriner and a member of
the Jewish War Veterans. During World
War II, while in the Air Force, he
taught pilots to fly.
Mr. Weingarden is survived by his
wife, Libby Weingarden; daughters and
sons-in-law, Donna and Allan
Pearlman of Huntington Woods,
Lauren Weingarden, Dayle and Jay
Prinstein, Janice and Mark Kettler; son
and daughter-in-law, Sheldon and Judy
Klein; grandchildren, Jodie and Peter
Berkman, Emily and Raphael Green,
Joshua and Beth Pearlman, Justin and
Rachel Prinstein, Adam and Brian
Kettle, Daniel, Devorah, Adina and
Gavi Klein; great-grandchildren,
Nicole, Caroline and Bradley Berkman,
Daisy Green, Jack and Carly Pearlman;
sisters, Sylvia Barak, Beverly
Weingarden; sisters-in-law and broth-
ers-in-law, Monnie Weingarden,
Arthur and Frumie Bruckner, Rosalyn
Finkelstein, Rayfield Gluckman,
Herbert and Sue Jaffe. He was the lov-
ing brother of the late Melvin
Weingarden; dear brother of the late
Sidney Barak, the late Sony Finkelstein
and the late Shirley Gluckman.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

to the Morning Minyan Fund at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek or to
Yeshivat Akiva. Arrangements by Ira

REGINA WEISBERGER, 86, of West
Bloomfield, died Jan. 28, 2006.
She is survived by her daughter-in-
