Federation of Metropolitan Detroit as
director of Mission Outreach and
Development. She will be primarily
responsible for
developing com-

programs and

Bloomberg returns to Federation
with many years of experience in the
field of Jewish communal service,
including a six-year tenure as director
of development with Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit. Most recently,
Bloomberg was development director
for Anti-Defamation League-Michigan
Region.

Winter Trip Camp

For the fifth consecutive year, Friends
of Refugees of Eastern Europe —
FREE, will present Winter Trip Camp,
to be held from Dec. 26-30. Although
many of the children are from new
American families from the former
Soviet Union, registration is open to
all Jewish children ages 5-11.
Children meet at 10 a.m. at the Bais
Chabad Torah Center in West
Bloomfield. The day begins with an
interactive session in Bible studies
and Jewish traditions. The children
construct arts and crafts projects
highlighting the theme of the morning
discussion.

Temple Shir Shalom recently elected a
new board of trustees. They are: presi-
dent, Stuart Bas; vice presidents, Pam
Kornfeld, Jeff Sakwa, George Leikin
and Michael Reich; trustees, Terry
Alpert, Fran Bell, Willard Cooperstock,
Richard Ellis, Joseph Firestone, Jay
Hollander, Norman Keane, Richard
Levin, Richard Mukamal, Michelle
Newman, Louise Oram, Mark Schulz
and Rabbi Dannel Schwartz.
The new brotherhood officers are:
president, Mark Schulz; vice presi-
dents, Gordon Krainen, Larry
Stillwater and Terry Alpert.
The new sisterhood officers are: co-
presidents, Sandy Ephraim and Fran
Bell; vice president, Diane Baum;
treasurer, Joan Conroy; recording sec-
retary, Ruth Blackman; and fund-rais-
ing chair, Shelly Newman.

Brotherhood Night

The brotherhoods of Temple Kol Ami
and Congregation Shir Tikvah will
present the sixth annual "Not So Silent
Night" Saturday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m.
at Temple Kol Ami, 5085 Walnut Lake
Road, West Bloomfield.
There will be a dinner followed by
the music of Azamra! featuring Steve
Klaper and Caitlin Klaper. The pro-

. ties and trips, ending at 4 p.m.
Highlights of the week will be a
wildlife safari, a Chanukah Carnival,
Glow-in-the-Dark Mini-Golf, Mad

Wednesday's trip features an inter-
generational experience at the
Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield, where children will enter-
tain and present residents with hand-
made gifts.
A kosher lunch and snacks are
included in the fee. Children may
