Almog estimates 36,000 chil-
dren in Israel have mild to
severe brain injuries.
The 25-acre Aleh Negev vil-
lage will be home to 500 dis-
abled adults and provide outpa-
tient services (600 hours per
week) to 12,000 disabled chil-
dren and young adults annually.
Located near the depressed
town of Ofakim, the village will
help develop the Negev region,
provide more than 800 jobs and
be invaluable to its residents
and their families.
More than 40 percent of the
construction has been complet-
ed and the first 70 residents,
including Eran, will move in
next month. The entire develop-
ment will be completed by
2007.
