brate her bat mitzvah as she is
called to the Torah Saturday, Dec.
3, at Congregation Beth
Shalom.. Sharing in the joy of
the simchah will be her parents,
Paula and Barry Mardit, her sis-
ter Molly and her proud grand-
mother Lorraine Schwartz. Rose
is also the granddaughter of the
late Sidney
Schwartz and
the late Rose
and Benjamin
Mardit.
Rosie is a
student at
Norup Middle
Mardit
School in Oak
Park, She is
especially proud of her mitzvah
project, spending Sunday morn-
ings volunteering at Yad Ezra in
Berkley.

Victor Gregory Kaufman, son
of Angelina and Boris Kaufman,
will celebrate his bar mitzvah as
he reads from the Torah at
Temple Israel
on Saturday,
Dec. 3. He is the
brother of Paul,
Stanley and
Christine and
Michael.
Sharing the
simchah will be

grandchild of the late Polina
Polikashin and the late Gregory
Kaufman.

In an attempt to keep the notices that mark youth on their path
to maturity meaningful yet brief, we have decided to change the
items to include.
We have eliminated the reference to the school "honor" rank-
ing because it differs from school to school. Since mitzvah proj-
ects have increased, we ask that only one be selected to be repre-
sentative of tzedakah.
Thank you for your adherence to these changes.
