David Fink, director of the Office of the
State Employer and an appointee of Gov.
Jennifer Granholm, will leave his post on
Oct. 28 to return to practice law in the pri-
vate sector. The Harvard Law School alum-
nus and former congressional candidate
has served the state for 2 1/2 years.
"It Nvas not an easy decision to leave the
Granholm administration and a job I
love said Fink, a West Bloomfield resi-
dent,"but family comes first. I'm looking
forward to a new position in private prac-
David Fink
tice that will allow me to spend more time
with my wife and children."
Between them, Fink and his wife, Amy, have six children.
As State Employer, Fink served as Granholm's chief labor negotiator,
settling state employee labor agreements. He also was the administra-
tion's lead negotiator for the legislative work group on diversifying
jobs.
"I sincerely regret his decision to leave Gov. Granholm said, "but
fully understand his desire to return to the private practice of law and
to spend more time with his family. I wish David and his family noth-
ing but the very best and much happiness."

Nagler's Michigan

There's still time to catch an exhibition of images by noted photogra-
pher Monte Nagler at Barnes & Noble, 6800 Orchard Lake Road in
West Bloomfield. The show, featuring some new photographs from
Michigan, Japan, Poland and the American Southwest, runs through
Oct. 30. Nagler of Farmington Hills will be onsite from 3-9 p.m. each
night. He'll also be glad to autograph his new book Monte Nagler's
Michigan featuring 92 black-and-white fine art photographs taken
around the state. A foreword is written by Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
Nagler also will speak at the Local Author Fair of the JCC Jewish
Book Fair at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the JCC in West Bloomfield.
