Filling a niche for parents seeking
answers to children's questions on top-
ics ranging from aleph to Zion, the
Florence Melton Parent Education
Program is set to begin Monday, Sept.
12, 9:30-11:45 a.m. at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, Southfield.
The Parent Education Program is
sponsored by Federation's Alliance for
Jewish Education with a grant from
the AVI CHAT Foundation, in con-
junction with Adat Shalom Synagogue
and Congregation Shaarey Zedek, and
is an adaptation of the Florence
Melton Adult Mini-School.
To participate in the program, par-
ents must have children in Jewish pre-
schools or in Jewish day schools grades
K-2. The two-year PEP program cre-
ates a learning community of parents
from all backgrounds and invites its
participants to strengthen their own
personal understanding of Judaism
while exploring ways to enrich their
child's Jewish identity.
Classes will also meet on
Wednesdays, starting Sept. 14, from
9:15 to 11:30 a.m. at Shaarey Zedek
West Bloomfield, B'nai Israel Center.
To learn more and to request a
brochure on the upcoming course

Mini School, call Marion Bronstein,
