PHILIP ASH, 102, of Farmington

Hills, died June 25, 2005. He was
an industrial equipment sales execu-
tive.
Mr. Ash is survived by his son,
Saul Ash of California; daughters
and sons-in-law, Rose Ash and Glen
Goodwin of California, Shirley and
Irwin T. Holtzman; grandchildren,
Matthew and Jade Holtzman,
Johannah and Michael Kaufman,
Jonathan Holtzman; four great-
grandchildren; brother, Simon Ash
of Florida; sister, Lillian Markus of
California. He was the beloved hus-
band of the late Tessie Ash.
Interment at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may
be made to a charity of one's choice.

IOSSIF BOURGMAN, 89, of

Southfield, died June 20, 2005.
He is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Boris and Irina
Burgman of Oak Park, Leonid and
Irina Burgman of Farmington Hills,
Itzchak Burgman of Israel; grand-
children, Sheila Burgman, Yuri
Burgman, Leon Burgman, Max
Burgman. He was the beloved hus-
band of the late Pessa Bourgman.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment at
Hebrew Memorial Park.

DR. CHARLES CLAYMAN, 79, of

Bloomfield Hills, died June 22,
2005. He was a graduate of
Wesleyan University and Indiana
University School of Medicine. His
service in the Army was at the Army
Medical Reserve Project Stateville
Penitentiary, where the program was
developed for all rerturning troops
traveling by ship to the U.S.
Dr. Clayman received his training
in gastroenterology and participated
in the first studies of inflammatory
bowel disease with ACTH, cortisone
and other anti-inflammatories. He
was on the faculty at and performed
clinical work at the University of
Chicago. He was also responsible for
an Atomic Energy Commission-
sponsored study of the carciogenic
potential of external radiation. In
1962, Dr. Clayman moved to the
University of Illinois as clinical pro-
fessor and university senate member.
He was then appointed adjunct pro-
fessor of medicine at Nortrhwerstern
University Medical School.
In 1979, he become a contributing

editor for the Journal of the American
Medical Association and the medical
editor of the AMA Consumer Book
Division.
Dr. Clayman is survived by his
wife, Joann Clayman; sons and
daughters-in-law, Joseph Clayman
and Helen Horowitz of Denver,
Adam Clayman of New Mexico;
daughters, Diane Clayman of
Chicago, Linda Clayman of Illinois;
13 grandchildren; stepchildren,
Michael and Mary Beth Shwayder,
Mark Shwayder and Susan Levytsky,
Tor Shwayder and Aimee Ergas,
Walter Shwayder and Kathryn
Glassner; sisters, Dorothy Green and
Rosalind Shipko.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to the Hematologic
Malignancies Fund, Myeloma at the
Mayo Foundation, c/o Dr. Morie
Gertz, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN
55905 or to a charity of one's
choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

WILLIAM DOLINKA, 89, of West

Bloomfield, died June 25, 2005.
He is survived by his brother and
sister-in-law, Herman and Shirley
Dolinka of Farmington Hills.; nieces
and nephews; dear friends. He was
the loving brother of the late Sadie
Nicholson.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment at
Hebrew Memorial Park.
