Tans are speeding up for the
West Bloomfield Classic Car
Cruise and Bloom: The West
Bloomfield Fine Art Festival, set for
consecutive weekends, but it's neces-
sary to check the Web sites for both
events to find the latest news added as
changes are made.
Orchard Lake Road is at the center
of both events with the actual
"Cruise" running noon-6 p.m.

Sunday, June 19, and "Bloom" taking
place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-

"The idea for the cruise literally has
exploded in popularity," says Stuart
Brickner, West Bloomfield Township
trustee organizing the event with the
Orchard Lake Road Cruise
Committee. "We see cruises all over

Vehicles leading off the cruise,
sponsored by the Orchard - Lake Road
Car Club and the Greater West
Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce,
will meet at Orchard Lake Middle
School, 6000 Orchard Lake Road and
drive south to 13 Mile in Farmington
Hills.
Curb lanes along that distance will
be closed to general traffic in both
directions so that cruisers can travel
freely. Parking will be available on
both sides of the street.
"I have a black 1987 Buick Grand
National that I'll be driving," says
Brickner, also a member of the
Temple Israel Brotherhood, whose
cruising interests Brickner is solicit-
ing. "I've driven the car in the
Woodward Dream Cruise."
