New Bloom

There also will be a lot to see the fol-
lowing weekend, when the annual
West Bloomfield art fair, renamed
Bloom, comes to a new location, clos-
ing off Orchard Lake Road between
14 Mile and Power Road (north of 14
and south of Maple) during the event.
More than 200 artists from around
the country will be showing and sell-
ing their works. All types of media,
from paintings to jewelry, will be
available with lots of contemporary
designs featured.
"The move to Orchard Lake Road
[from the Henry Ford Hospital satel-
lite on Maple Road] has definitely
brought the community and local
businesses together," says Bob Walker
of English Gardens, Bloom
Committee chairman. "It is a great
step in making this central area of
West Bloomfield come alive."
The event, in its 11th year, is now
based at the Boardwalk Shopping
Plaza, and will have entertainment,
activities for children and a variety of
food stations. Sponsored by the
Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of
Commerce, Bloom is managed by
Dianne Quinn and Raychel Rork, a
mother-daughter team also producing
Plymouth's Art in the Park.
Shuttle service, at a cost of $3, will
take people to the center of the art
show from parking at West
Bloomfield High School, 4925
Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield;
the Jewish Community Center, 6600
West Maple Road, West Bloomfield;
Compuware, 31550 Northwestern,
Farmington Hills; and Henry Ford
Medical Center, 6777 Maple Road,
West Bloomfield. El
