Young Leadership

Amy Schlussel is the immediate past
president of Federation's Young Adult
Division (YAD) and currently serves
as a board member of Federation,
Women's Department and YAD.
As chair of YAD's strategic planning
committee, she has been instrumental
in instituting significant change in the
manner of conducting the Campaign,
redefining the YAD mission and cre-
ating the YAD Education and Culture
Committee.
Scott Kaufman is also a past recipi-
ent of the Mark Family Young
Leadership Award. A past president of
YAD, he now serves as chair of
Detroit Men's Young Leadership
Cabinet and co-chair of Federation's
Marketing Committee.

Golf Classic June 20

The B'nai B'rith annual Golf Classic
will be held at Wabeek Country Club
in Bloomfield Hills on Monday, June
20. Proceeds from thie event benefit
B'nai B'rith's youth serving agencies.
Co-chairs are Michael Fishman, Ron
Bittker and David Lubin.
The cost for the day is $250 ($225
for golfers age 35 and under) and
includes 18 holes of golf, locker room
facilities, complimentary range balls, a
buffet brunch, refreshments, kosher
hot dogs, snacks and beverages on the
course, followed by an open bar, cock-
tails, hors d'oeuvres and dinner.
Non-golfers are encouraged to
attend the dinner only and bid on live
and silent auction items. A golfer who
hits a hole-in-one will win a new car.

Leadership Program, Scott has been
instrumental in creating numerous
YAD programs, including the
Unfettered program.
Scott has served as associate chair of
Federation's Michigan Miracle Mission
IV, national chair of the UJC Young
Adult Israel Summer Mission in 2001,
and chair of the YAD Summer
Missions in 1999 and 2000. On a
national level, he also served as an advi-
sory committee member for Birthright
Israel.
As part of their respective awards,
both Schlussel and Kaufman will
attend the United Jewish
Communities' General Assembly in
Toronto in November.

Bubba Urdan now serves on the
boards of YAD, Jewish Community
Center, Jewish Apartments & Services
and ORT.
As an officer and Campaign Chair
of YAD and a member of UJC's
Men's Young Leadership Cabinet, he
has become a mentor to new board
members.
A strong advocate for Israel, Urdan
has served as a trip leader, national co-
chair of the UJC Young Adult Israel
Summer Mission, member of the
Partnership 2000 Young Leadership
program and Missions Oversight
Committee.
The Mark Family Award takes the
form of a grant to enable the recipient
to attend the UJC Young Leadership
Conference held bi-annually in
Washington, D.C. ❑
