JAMES POPKIN, 78, of West
Bloomfield, died May 1, 2005. He
was a manufacturers representative and
a member of Temple Emanu-El.
Mr. Popkin is survived by his wife,
Fay-Ann Popkin; daughter, Leslie
Popkin of California; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Dr. Randall and Melissa
Popkin of California; grandchildren,
Zachary Chafetz and Karrie Williams,
Kiley Popkin, Cameron Popkin, Eric
Zagacki and Elijah Popkin. He was
the loving father of the late Shelley
Popkin Zagacki.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of
Detroit, died April 30, 2005. She
taught piano for over 30 years. She
was a resident of Deerfield Beach, Fla.,
for 29 years and a lifelong member
and supporter of Na'amat.
Mrs. Rappaport is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law, Dr.

ALFRED ROSENBERG, 93, of Ann
Arbor, died April 30, 2005. He was
born in Breisach, Germany, and
studied at a Jewish seminary in
Wurzberg. He became a cantor and
religious teacher, first in Kirschen
and then in Darmstadt. In 1938, he
emigrated to the United States with
his wife and his wife's parents but
without his parents and brother. In
the United States, he settled in
Lansdale, Pa., where he was the reli-
gious leader of Congregation Beth
Israel for many years. He also worked
in various capacities for a regional
wholesaler, eventually rising to the
post of vice president for purchasing.
Mr. Rosenberg is survived by his son
and daughter-in-law, Victor and
Valerie Rosenberg of Ann Arbor;
grandchildren, Elizabeth and David
Plimack and Noah Rosenberg and
Shannon Roche; grea-grandchildren,
Maya and Alexander Plimack. For over
50 years, he was the beloved husband
of the late Alice Rosenberg.
Interment in Philadelphia.

Southfield, died April 27, 2005.
She is survived by her grandsons,
Mark Agree, Paul Agree.

DR. HENRY D. SCHLESINGER,
90, of West Bloomfield, died April 25,
2005. He graduated from Wayne State
University School of Medicine in
1940 and special-
ized in family prac-
tice as a physician
and a surgeon from
1945-1982. He was
a member of
Wayne County
Medical
Association, the
Michigan State
Schlesinger
Medical Association
and the American
Medical Association and a life member
and diplomat of the American
Academy of Family Practice. He also
was chief of staff at Brent General
Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Schlesinger is survived by his
loving son and daughter-in-law,
