HAROLD M. KAUFMAN, 83, of
Franklin, died April 25, 2005. He was
an investor, a member of Congregation
Sharrey Zedek, a first lieutenant in the
U.S. Air Force during World War II
and served in the Pacific Theater; he
was also a member of B'nai B'rith, the
Anti Defamation League, American
Jewish Congress and Penrickton
Center for Blind Children.
Mr. Kaufman is survived by his wife,
Dorothy Kaufman; daughters and sons-
in-law, Lauren and Richard Botney of
Oregon, Donna and Richard Weiss of
Birmingham; grandchildren, Jessica
and Lana Botney, Jessica and Jacob
Weiss. He was the dear brother of the
late Joseph Kaufman.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to the Dorothy and Harold
Kaufman Scholarship Fund at the
National Council of Jewish Women;
Congregation Shaarey Zedek; or the
Henry Ford Hospital Heart Failure
Research Fund. Arrangments by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

RUTH KOSSACK, 87, of West

Bloomfield, died April 21, 2005.

She is survived by her beloved hus-
band, Sam Kossack; daughters and
son-in-law, Marilyn and Thomas
Tomaszewski of Livonia, Karen
Kossack of West Bloomfield; brothers
and sister-in-law, Harry and Bernice
Swinkin of Southfield, Herb Swinkin
of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; grand-
children, David Tomaszewski, Jaime
Levitz and Daniel Levitz; great-grand-
daughter, Melody Nims.
Interment at B'nai Israel Cemetery.

DANIEL KOTI, 42, of Detroit, died
April 17, 2005. He was a metro traffic
reporter for WWJ.
Mr. Koti is survived by his aunt,

HENRY LONNERSTATER, 75, of

Detroit, died April 24, 2005.
Mr. Lonnerstater came to the United
States from Germany in 1938. He
received a business degree from Wayne

University in Detroit and served in the
U.S. Army as an interpreter in Germany
during the Korean War period.
For the past 40 years, he has been
active in real estate. He was the chief
appraiser and head of the commercial
loan division of two local savings and
loans and ran his own business,
Commercial Mortgage Financing
Corp., for many years. He was presi-
dent of the Detroit Chapter of the
Society of Real Estate Appraisers and
belonged to the Appraisal Institute and
the Michigan Mortgage Bankers
Association.
A former president of Congregation
Beth Ahm, Mr. Lonnerstater and his
wife, Shirley, were scheduled to be
honored at a congregational dinner
June 5.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Shirley Lonnerstater; son and daughter-
in-law, Brian and Diane Lonnerstater
of Novi; daughter and son-in-law,
Dayna and Steven Ross of Bloomfield
Hills; sister and brother-in-law, Ilse and
Milton Herst of Chicago; sister-in-law
and brother-in-law, Berna and Gabriel
Allen; grandchildren, Bradley and
Corey Ross, Matthew, Brandon, Shelby
and Jared Lonnerstater.
Interment at the Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may be

JACK MAHLIN, 90, of Sherman

was a jeweler and avid golfer, who had
