ORT Names Honoree
D. Dan Kahn, philanthropist for many
Jewish causes, will be Women's
American ORT's Visions of Hope hon-
oree Tuesday evening, May 3, at the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield. Kahn is
being recognized for his
community leadership
and longstanding advo-
cacy of the global ORT
network of schools and
programs.
The event will fea-
ture a video of the
Kahn
global ORT network
and Kahn's life of dedi-
cation to family, community and busi-
ness. Guests will be treated to hors
d'oeuvres, a dessert buffet and jazz
music. CNN's NewsNight anchor
Aaron Brown will speak about hope
from a journalist's viewpoint.

B'nai B'rith Cites Guardian
On Wednesday evening, April 13, B'nai
B'rith Great Lakes Region will present
the 2005 International Guardian Of
The Menorah Award to Dr. Owen Z.
Perlman at a dinner in his honor at the
Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Ann
Arbor near Briarwood Mall.
Co-chairs for the dinner are Peter
Perlman, past B'nai B'rith International
fund-raising chair, and Linda Berke, for-
mer director of the B'nai B'rith
Foundation. Dr. Charles Seigerman is

ad journal chair.
The master of ceremonies for the
event will be Jeff Zaslow, columnist for
the Wall Street Journal. The evening's
entertainer will be impressionist Jim
