GIZELLA ADLER OKRENT, 92,
formerly of Detroit of Evanston Ill.,
died March 14, 2005. Born in
Hungary, she arrived in the United
States in • 1930 not speaking a word of
English; four years later she was a grad-
uate of Wayne University, certified to
teach in Detroit public schools.
For three decades, she taught music
and other subjects in the Detroit sys-
tem and after her retirement she began •
a second career as a social worker at
the Jewish Home for Aged. Following
the 1990 death of her husband, she
lived in Cincinnati and then Evanston.
Mrs. Okrent is survived by her chil-
dren, Judith and Arthur B. Simon of
Chicago, Lawrence and Inez Okrent of
Evanston, Daniel Rebecca Okrent of
New York City; grandchildren, Mimi
and Brad Saks, Arika and Derrick
Higgins, Joel and Julie Simon, Sarah
Okrent, Karen and David Zasloff,
John Okrent, Lydia Okrent; great-
grandchildren, Ethan and Caleb Saks,
Lily and Isaac Simon, Ava Zasloff. She
was the wife of the late Harry Okrent;
grandmother of the late David Okrent;
dear sister of the late Elemer Adler.
Interment at Machpleah Cemetery.

FEYGA REYF, 79, of Southfield, died
March 17, 2005.
She is survived by her brother and
sister-in-law, Vitali and Lyubov
Shayevich of West Bloomfield; nieces,
Stella Shayevich, Bella Shayevich and
Emil Mishiyev. She was the beloved
wife of the late David Reyf.

DOROTHY S. RICH, 86, of
Birmingham, died March 18, 2005.
She was a homemaker and a volunteer
at Jewish Vocational Service.
Mrs. Rich is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Merton and
Grace Rich of California, Myles and
Julie Rich of Birmingham; grandchil-
dren, Alli and Harrison Rich. She was
the beloved wife of the late Edward E.
Rich; dear sister of the late Maurine
Williams and the late Gertrude
Goldberg.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

DR. SIDNEY 0. SIEGAN, 93, of
Lighthouse Pt., Fla., died March 17,
2005. He was a dentist. A graduate of
the University of Michigan Dental
School, he served in the Army Air
Corps stationed in England.
Dr. Siegan was a 55-year member of
Adat Shalom Synagogue and past
board member, a past commander of
the Joseph Bale Post of the Jewish War
Veterans, a past president of Alpha
Omega Dental Fraternity, a past chair
of the dental section of the Allied
Jewish Campaign and a member of
Mosaic Perfection Lodge.
Dr. Siegan is survived by his sons
and daughter-in-law, Dr. Bruce Siegan,
Dr. Steen Siegan and Dr. Lisa Vickery;
daughters and sons-in-law, Cherie-
Lynne and Richard Chosid, Renee
Siegan and Dr. Timothy Brennan;
grandchildren, Robin Chosid-Brown
and Chip Brown, Pamela and Jonahtan
