A fireplace opens to both the family room and dining room with both rooms sharing a single wooden mantle
that curves around through the hallway.
window, designed by Scott and cre-
ated by Rae.
The home's three bedrooms are
on an upper level, including those
of children, Jared, 11, and Madalyn,
9, each designed with an attached
bathroom. Being in Jared's room is
like looking out into a turquoise
and blue ocean.
"My sister and I painted the
walls to match his sheets, which
look like tall waves," Rae said.
"Scott took his old windsurfer and
turned it into a desk with a sail."
Rae also faux-painted Madalyn's
lavender-colored walls. Bright pas-
tel flowered balloon valances match
her comforter.
From the vibrantly toned furni-
ture — including a sofa uphol-
stered in blue and black striped
fabric with red and yellow accents
and a red laminate dining room
table — to the vividly colored art
pieces and unique contemporary
opaque orange and cobalt-blue
light fixtures, the house is bright.
The unique placement of the
rooms also adds to the home's
brightness.
