Q : My mother, who has Alzheimer's disease,

OBITS from page 81

is in a nursing home. In cleaning out her apartment,
we found her funeral instructions. She requested
cremation with her ashes to be buried between
her parents' graves. The cemetery says this cannot
be done. We don't favor cremation, but are
uncomfortable not honoring her wishes.

A: When you purchase plots, you are bound by the

rules and regulations of the cemetery. Your mother
clearly stated her desire-to be buried as close to her
parents as possible, which can only be accomplished
through a traditional burial.
