The Family Guy, a Fox cartoon
series, will air an episode, "When
You Wish Upon A Weinstein,"
Friday, Dec. 10, at 9:30 p.m.
The episode has a strange histo-
ry. Family Guy was on TV a few
years ago but was canceled for low
ratings. However, huge ratings for
reruns on the Cartoon Channel
and big DVD sales led Fox to
bring the show back this fall.
"Weinstein" appears on the
DVD, but Fox had vetoed its TV
showing when originally made,
supposedly because it edged too
close to anti-Semitic stereotypes.
In "Weinstein," the stupid lead
character receives sound financial
advice from a Jewish guy (voiced
by BEN STEIN). This convinces
him that Jews are smarter, and he
decides to convert. He even tries
to get his son (voiced by SETH
GREEN) a "quickie" bar mitzvah.
Fox reportedly did make one
change for the TV showing. In the
show's song "I Need a Jew," the
original lyric, "Even though they
killed our Lord," is changed to "I
don't think they killed our Lord."
OK.

People magazine was recently out
with its list of the "Sexiest Men
Alive," and it was a pretty good
year for hot Hebrews. In the Top
10 list was actor JAKE GYLLEN-
HAAL. Other actors named as
sexy were ZACH BRAFF, ADAM
BRODY (whose parents, Val
Siefman Brody and Mark Brody,
lived in the Detroit area before
moving to San Diego) and
SCOTT WOLF (formerly of Party
of Five, now starring on the show
Everwood).
Also in the most sexy issue was
comedian SACHA BARON
COHEN, who was profiled in the
Nov.12 issue of the JN. His People

picture proves that the funny man
cleans up quite nicely when out of
"Ali G" persona make-up.
Over in sexy musician land,
People chose lead man ADAM
LEVINE of Maroon 5. Last but
not least was author BEN
MEZRICH, whose photo showed
that even M.I.T. grads can be hot.

Jewish Mozart?

Those who saw the recent 60
Minutes segment on 12-year-old
composer JAY GREENBERG
were astonished. The Julliard stu-
dent has already written five sym-
phonies.
His music theory teacher, com-
poser SAM ZYSMAN, said, "We
are talking about a prodigy of the
level of the greatest prodigies in
history when it comes to composi-
tion. I am talking about the likes
of Mozart and Mendelssohn and
Saint-Saens."
The son of a language professor
and an Israeli-born painter,
Greenberg was interested in corn-
posing by the time he was 3. He
seems to
download the
music from his
head, the way
Mozart was
reputed to do.
Already,
major orches-
Composer prodigy tras have taken
an interest in
Jay Greenberg
his composi-
tions, with the
New Haven Symphony commis-
sioning a work that was excerpted
on 60 Minutes. (The full story can
be found at www.cbsnews.com .
You can listen to his work,
Overture to 9/11, written when
Greenberg was 10(!), at
