Special Needs Classes Set
Temple Beth El will offer Jewish
education for students with special
needs in seventh-12th grade as a
component of the Monday night
school program.
The students will eat dinner at 6
p.m. with all the Monday partici-
pants and then will be taught by
Rosanne Miller in a developmentally
appropriate atmosphere. Dr. Miller
will teach holidays, history, Torah,
Hebrew, Israel, tzedakah and Jewish
values. The students will have occa-
sional music and worship opportuni-
ties and will be included in all-
school programs.
This program is open to all Jewish
students, and Temple Beth El mem-
bership is not necessary. There is a

Scholar Leads Weekend
Professor Howard Lupovitch,
Congregation Beth Shalom's scholar
in residence, will lead weekend activ-
ities starting Dec. 10.
There will be a Shabbat dinner
Friday, Dec. 10, fol-
lowing 6 p.m. serv-
ices. Cost is $15
for adults and $10
for children 5 to 12;
free for children
younger than 5;
reservations are
required.
On Saturday,
Dec. 11, Dr.
Dr. Lupovitch
Lupovitch will deliv-
er a d'var Torah at
Shabbat morning services on
"Joseph, the First Jewish Politician."
Following services, he will speak
at a lunch and learn program dis-
cussing defenders of Judaism and
asking, "Would We Revolt With
Judah Maccabee?" Reservations are
again required; $10 for adults and
$5 for children.
A combined charge of $22 for
adults and $12 for children is being
offered for individuals attending
both meals.
Dr. Lupovitch holds the Pulver
Family Chair in Jewish Studies at
Colby College in Maine. He is writ-
ing a history of the Jews of
Budapest.
