Federation's Family Miracle Mission
to Israel has confirmed travel dates,
pricing and accommodations for 800
participants.
The 11-day mission, co-sponsored
by the Michigan Board of Rabbis
and the Detroit Jewish News, will
coincide with winter break in
Michigan schools and is scheduled in
time to celebrate Chanukah in
December 2005.
Co-chairs of the mission are: Drs.
Conrad and Lynda Giles, Lisa and
Hannan Lis, Beverly and Arthur Liss.
Due to the availability of flights to
Israel during the peak tourist season,
the mission is scheduled for two
departure dates on El Al flights leav-
ing directly from Detroit
Metropolitan Airport. The first will
be Dec. 25, 2005, returning to
Detroit on Jan. 4, 2006. The second
departure will be Dec. 26, 2005,
returning on Jan. 5, 2006.
The cost of the mission is $3,995
per adult, $3,895 per child and
$3,695 for a third person in a room.
B'nai mitzvah-aged youth will have a
special rate of $3,795 in a double
and $3,595 as a third in a room. The
single supplement will be $690. Bus-
iness class seats carry an added cost.
Applications for the mission will
be processed on a first-come, first-
served basis at the Federation office
and accepted by mail only, post-
marked no earlier than Dec. 15,
2004. Applications of related extend-
ed family members who want to
travel together should be sent in the
same envelope to be guaranteed
treatment as a single-family unit.
For brochures detailing the itiner-
ary of the trip, applications or fur-
ther information, call Deena
Lockman, (248) 642-1644.
