Thirteen fellow Detroiters will each bike
250 miles in Israel to support the physical-
ly handicapped children of Alyn Hospital, in the
Wheels of Love charity bike ride October 24-28.

We are proud to have Joanna Abramson, Dorothy and Eddy
Barak, Lisa Berenholz, Beth Brandvain, Bill Graham,
Ted Kahn, Marc Convisser, Robert Levine, Allan Lovinger,
Davida and Warren Robinson and Michelle Tukel represent
our wonderful Detroit Jewish community.

Michal (Michelle) Berris, a Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit and
West Bloomfield High School gradu-
ate, is pursuing a doctorate in engi-
neering at the D. Dan and Betty Kahn
Medical Robotics Laboratory at the
Technion-Israel Institute of
Technology.
She is on the mechanical engineer-
ing faculty and has been accepted into
the Bruce Rappaport Faculty of
Medicine to complete a joint degree in
medicine and engineering.

Berris recently addressed a group of
Technion supporters at a luncheon
sponsored by the Detroit Chapter of
American Technion Society Women's
Task Force at the home of Florine
Mark Ross.
The event was co-chaired by Susan
Curhan, Lisa Lis and Mary Wartell.
Berris graduated from West
Bloomfield High in 1994. She earned
her bachelor of science and master of
science degrees at Massachusetts
Institute of Technology. She arrived in
Israel in 2003. The thrust of her
research is in fetal robotic surgery.

Gift Of Life

A filly equipped basic lift support ambulance was donated to the people of Israel
in loving memory of Detroiter Males Goldschmid by her husband and sons. The
dedication took place in California. Shown are Dr. David and Joseph
Goldschmid, Ellen Rofman, Rabbi Nat Ezray and Di Steven and Robert
Goldschmid.
