her trips to Fresh Air Camp in sub-
urban Detroit in the 1910s and her
return visit to Camp Tamarack as a
senior citizen made her a focal point
of the recently published book A
Timeless Treasure, 100 years of Fresh
Air Society Camp, by Wendy. Rose
Bice. She was the oldest living Fresh
Air Society camper in Detroit and-
received a standing ovation after
delivering her nostalgic and witty
reflections at the annual Jewish Book
Fair in November of 2002.
Mrs. Freedman is survived by her
sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence
and Marilyn Freedman of Boca
Raton, Fla., Barry and Sandra
Freedman of Troy, Michael and
Renee Freedman of Alexandria, Va.;
10 grandchildren; *seven great-grand-
children. Mrs. Freedman was the
beloved wife of the late Hymen
Freedman.

Southfield, died Aug. 6, 2004.
She is survived by her husband,
Isadore Friedman; sons, Stephen
Friedman of White Lake, Dr. David
Friedman of Pleasant Ridge; daugh-
ter, Andrea Friedman of Southfield;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and
Carrie Lenzner of Mission Viejo,
Calif., Werner and Rita Falenski of
Berlin, Germany; grandchildren,
Jessica Friedman, Danielle Friedman,
Adam Friedman. She was the loving
mother of the late Jeffrey Friedman.

SYLVIA LEE, 92, of Rochester
Hills, died Aug. 8, 2004. She was
active with Hadassah, was a past
president of the Owosso Women's
Club, a past president of Owosso
Musicale, a past president of Eastern
Star Abigail Chapter in Owosso and
a past president of Elks Ladies Club
in Owosso.
