The June 27 Interfaith Partners' service project also 1
involved volunteers from Temple Kol Ami and 't
Congregation T'Chiyah as well as those from Church
of Today-West and from the Muslim community.
"My experience when we came together as an inter-
faith group was one of camaraderie and unity in a com-
mon goal," said Miriam Finerman of Shir Tikvah. "We
worked together with the experienced leading the inex-
perienced in an effort to see that we as a group had
made a contribution to the completion of the homes. It
is nice that in the world today, with so much religious
discord, that a diverse group can come together and
harmoniously work as one."
The morning began with an interfaith prayer service
led by Rabbi Arnie Sleutelberg of Shir Tikvah. The
project could be summed up in this line from the serv-
ice: "We come together because our love for God and
humanity inspires it; our concern for justice, freedom
and peace demands it; and what we can learn from each
other requires it."
