BBG

AT RIGHT: The Community Service project at
this year's convention was "Build A Bear," in
cooperation with the B'nai B'rith Great Lakes
Region and the Oakland County Sheriff's
Dept. BBYOers put together the stuffed
) animals for the Sheriff's Dept. to hand out to
children who have been touched by traumatic
situations. Each sheriff's vehicle will carry the
bears for use where the situation warrants.

Lauren Friedman, Marni Katz, and Jill
Rosenfeld (L to R) were promoting the
need for AZA and BBG advisors at the RC
Talent Show on Sunday night of Regional
Convention. The need still exists, so please
call the BBYO office to apply at 248-788-
0700.

Genesis BBG showed their mastery of the
whirlyball court by seizing victory on the
first afternoon of Regional Convention.

Quiz Bowl fever was at an all-time high at
this year's Regional Convention. Here, in
the finals, Achayot BBG competed against
Ruach BBG. Achayot won! Pictured L to R
are Whitney Aidenbaum, Reisa Shanaman,
Zara Teicher, and Randy Davis of Achayot;
Mike Taub of Jolson AZA, Quizmaster, Jule
Kaplan, Rachel Lebovic, Alyssa Trotsky, and
Melissa Morof of Ruach.

Al Jolson AZA dominated their Whirlball
competition and came up winners on the
first afternoon of Regional Convention.

Kulanu BBG in its second year was
recognized as the Most Improved BBG
Chapter at Regional Convention 2003.
"There's no stoppin' us now" will be their
theme for next year's convention.

Koach BBG swayed and sang their hearts
out at the Regional Convention Song
Contest on the first evening of RC at the
West Bloomfield JCC.

AT LEFT: Marty (L) and Naomi Doren (R) along
with their daughter, Cheryl Copley, and her
children were present to award this year's
Matthew Doren Memorial Leadership Award.
The winner was Bowen Vernan of Hank
Greenberg AZA, who will use his award to
attend the 2004 BBYO International Kallah at
the Perlman Camp in Starlight, Pennsylvania.

AT RIGHT: Leah Schloss of Alex Graham BBG
was the 2003 recipient of the Evan Shapiro
Memorial Scholarship, which was presented to
her by Eva Shapiro. Leah is N'siah of her
chapter and will use the scholarship to attend
Kallah and ILTC in summer 2004 at the Perlman
Camp in Starlight, Pennsylvania.
