ROSE GOULD ROSENFELD, 98,
Quebec, died April 6, 2004. He spent
his life working as a finisher in the fur
trade of Canada. He was also an hon,
ored leader of the
Lublinerlansmanshaft.
Mr. Master is survived by his sons
and daughters-in-law, Joe and Carol
Master of Chicago, Freddy and
Bonnie Master of Toronto; grandchil-
dren, Susan and Coby Gutkovich,
Karen and Gary Courval, Neil and
Denna Master, Alan and Beth
Silverberg, Margo Mina, Mitchell
Master; 10 great-grandchildren;
daughter-in-law, Lynne Master of
Detroit. He was the beloved husband
of the late Henna Master; loving
father of the late Eli Master.
Interment in Montreal.

International Institute for the Eli
Master Memorial Fund, do Secular
Humanistic Judaism at the

of St. Petersburg, Fla., died April 12,
2004. She was an active, vital member
of the Detroit Jewish Community.
Mrs. Rosenfeld was a founding mem-
ber of Temple Israel and held the posi-
tion of vice president of youth activi-
ties. Associated with Federation for
many years, she was a founding mem-
ber of the Women's Division, chair of
the January Institute, a vice president
of education and flit on the planning
committee for Blue Book Seminars.
At the Jewish Community Center,
Mrs. Rosenfeld served as chair of pub-
lic relations, chair of the annual book
fair, chair of the greenhouse and as
secretary and executive vice president.
With the National Council of
Jewish Women, Mrs. Rosenfeld
organized and served as the first advis-
er to the Councilettes in 1953. She
also acted as chair of social legislation,
as president in 1955 and was one of
the innovators of the Angel Ball.
Two years ago, at age 96, she was
elected to serve as president of
Brandeis Women in St. Petersburg,
Fla.
She is survived by her husband,
Robert Rosenfeld; sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Richard and Rubyjean
Gould of Virginia, Peter and Tami
Gould of Chicago; grandchildren,
Adam Gould, Tony and Laura Gould,
Seth and Karen Gould, Rebecca and
Michael McCullom; great-grandchil-
dren, Nicholas, Hannah, Andrew,
Benjamin, Margaret and Joseph
Gould and Kira McCullom. She was
the beloved wife of the late Arthur I.
Gould.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to
Brandeis University or the National
Council of Jewish Women.

SHIRLEY I. MILLER, 79, of

NATHAN MARKOVITZ, 88, of
Miami Beach, Fla., died April 8,
2004.
He is survived by his sisters, Minnie
Schiffman of Southfield, Pearl
Katkowsky of Chicago. He was the
loving son of the late Jennie
Markovitz; dear brother-in-law of the
late Abraham Schiffman, the late Karl
Katkowsky.
