PORTNER, formerly of West
Bloomfield of Pittsburgh, Pa., died
Feb. 21, 2004.
After graduating from Detroit
Northern High School, she worked
for six insurance agents, becoming a
manager and an officer of the Nathan
P. Rosen Agency of Detroit. Later, as
a travel agent in West Bloomfield,
Mrs. Portner and her husband won
dance contests on every cruise, spe-
cializing in the tango.
Mrs. Portner is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Elaine
(Portner) and Paul Pilkonis of
Pittsburgh; son, Marvin Portner of
Los Angeles; sister, Sylvia (Rossen)
Schane of Southfield; brother, Jordan
Rossen of Detroit; sisters-in-law,
Ethel (Stern) Portner, Faye .(Portner)
Soffen, Elizabeth Bunn of Detroit;
grandchildren, Daniel, Judith and
Rebecca Blank, Michael and Marie
Malloy, Jessica, Rebecca, Adam and

She was the cherished wife for 67
