RINKE CADILLAC
87 Years And Still Delivering

Applies To Everyone

Audience member Jeffery Marine of
Ann Arbor said he agrees that "Jews
have the obligation of tikkun °lain
(repair of the world) and part of that is
to be good stewards to our environ-
ment.
"But I don't think it goes just for
Jews — I think everybody should be
aware of the environment and conserva-
tive with our natural resources and land
use.
Katherine Shwayder of Saline said she
was glad her daughters, Aviva, 10, and
Elianna, 7, had the chance to hear
Rabbi Dobb's message. She said it
echoes messages she and her husband,
Walter, want their children to learn
about taking care of the environment.
Shwayder works in water resources
management for the Great Lakes
Commission.
"It's very inspiring," she said. "Here I
can look to my own Jewish roots and
find strength and nachas and wisdom in
trying to develop a sustainable approach
to living by the Great Lakes."
The event was co-sponsored by the
Ann Arbor Reconstructionist Havurah,
Temple Beth Emeth, Michigan
Coalition on the Environment and
Jewish Life, the Jewish Cultural Society
of Ann Arbor and Beth Israel
Congregation.
