Shawna attends Walled Lake Middle
School. She has enjoyed volunteering in
the Birmingham Temple Sunday school
programs.

Michelle Lillian Shebowich of Centen-
nial, Colo., will be called to the Torah as
a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Feb. 21, at
Temple Sinai in Denver. She is the
daughter of former
Detroiters Joel
Shebowich and
Lynne Stempien and
sister of Caryn and
Michael. Proud
grandparents are
Charlotte She-
bowich and Marvin
and Corinne
Stempien. She is also
the granddaughter of the late Hyman
Shebowich.
Michelle is an honor student at
Newton Middle School. As part of her
mitzvah preparation, she developed a
community service project, collecting
new and used books for local school
libraries.
