Zedek Southfield Saturday, Feb. 7. He
is the son of William and Natalie
Newman and big brother of Josh and
Jonah. Proud grand-

and Gerald Freed and
Ann Newman. He is
also the grandson of
the late Rudolph
Newman.
Eli is a double honor
student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. His mitzvah proj-
ects included work with Magen David
Adorn, JARC and the Fleischman
Residence in West Bloomfield; he
especially enjoyed his work at the Beth
Hayeled_day camp last summer.

Benjamin Samuel Young, son of
Mindy and Dr. Joel Young, will read
from the Torah on the occasion of his
bar mitzvah Friday, Feb. 6, at Temple
Israel. He is the brother of Katie and
Emily. His proud

Jacob Michael Dubin of Deerfield,
Ill., will celebrate his bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Feb. 7, at Congregation
Solel in Highland Park, Ill. He is the
son of Erin and David Dubin and
brother of Michelle and Daniel. Jacob
is the grandson of Ronald and
Charlotte Goldstein and the late
Florence Goldstein.
He is also the grand-
son of Abe Dubin and
the late Miriam
Dubin.
Jacob is a seventh-
grader at Caruso
Middle School. His
mitzvah projects
included packing emergency boxes at
the Chicago Food Depository and
playing his guitar for residents at the
Center for Enriched Living. He will
donate comic books to the Jewish
Children's Bureau in Illinois.
