4A,

We Get Questions

Q

: I was very concerned to read in my local
Florida newspaper of the hundreds of families
whose pre-need monies were absorbed in the
bankruptcy of the parent company of many
local funeral homes. Now, I wonder about the
prearrangements made here through you for my
husband and me.

A: I know you're concerned, but Michigan trusting

requirements are very different than those in Florida
and much more "consumer friendly." When you
give us money for funeral expenses, by Michigan law
we MUST trust the entire amount, so it's accessible
to you at any time and only available to us with a
certified copy of a death certificate.
