If any remember Glassman's Kosher
Catering in the Dexter-Davison area
in detroit, be ready to talk about it ...
Glassman's was owned by her grand-
parents Philip and Tillie Glassman.
CONGRATS ... To former
Detroiters Sam and Dorothy Essick
in California ... on their 55th
anniversary.
KORN KORNER ... Morris and
Joe are walking down the street when
it starts to rain, and no little sprinkle
either but a real shower. It just so
happens that Morris is carrying an
umbrella.
"Nu," says Joe. "So when are you
going to open the umbrella?"
"It won't do us any good," says
Morris. "It's full of holes."
"So why then did you bring it?"
asks Joe.
"Because," Morris says with a
shrug, "I didn't. think it would rain."
OLDIE BUT GOODIE Dept. ...
From Melissa Litvin ... An airplane
was about to crash. There were five
famous passengers on board, but only
four parachutes left.
The first passenger said, "I'm
Michael Jordan, the best NBA bas-
ketball player. The team needs me. I
cannot afford to die. So he took the
first pack and left the plane.
The second passenger, Hillary
Clinton, said, "I am the wife of the
former president of the United
States. I am also the most ambitious
woman in the world and I am a New •
York senator and a potential future
president." So she took the second
parachute and jumped out of the
plane.
The third passenger, George W.
Bush, said, "I'm president of the
United States. I have a great responsi-
bility being the leader of a superpow-
er nation. And, above all, I'm the
cleverest president in American histo-
ry. America's people won't let me
die." So he grabbed the pack next to
him and jumped out of the plane.
The fourth passenger, the pope,
says to the fifth passenger, the chief
rabbi of Israel, "I am old and frail
and I don't have many years left. As a
Catholic, I will sacrifice my life and
let you have the last parachute."
The rabbi says, "Don't be silly. It's
OK, there's a parachute left for you.
America's cleverest president has just
taken my tallis bag." ❑
