JACK B. ROSE, 84, of Farmington
Hills, died Aug. 28,
2003. He was born
in Denver, Colo.,
and came to Detroit
in 1937. Initially he
worked for Michigan
Mortgage then
formed Jack Rose
Rose
Building Company
in 1947. He contin-
ued as a builder until 1965, when he
decided to put his interpersonal
skills to the forefront and formed an
actuary company called Business
Benefit.
Mr. Rose was an avid golfer and
proud of having made five holes-in-
one. He was a past member of
Wabeek Country Club and past
president of the Henry Morganthau
Lodge. Having spent time in the
hospital as a child, he was very dedi-
cated to the National Jewish Medical
and Reseach Center in Denver.
He is survived by his beloved wife
of 62 years, Marion Rose of
Farmington Hills; son and daughter-
in-law, Dr. Harvey and Sandra Rose
of Rochester Hills; daughter and
son-in-law, Linda and Dr. John
Moran of Farmington Hills; sister-
in-law, Sara Lipson of Chicago;
grandchildren, Dr. Mitchell (fiancee
Dr. Elizabeth Gagen) Rose, Douglas
(Jelena) Rose, Julie Rose, Jennifer
Ritter, Melissa (Adam) Helfman,
Christopher (Sandra) Ritter, Andrew
Ritter, Lauren Moran, Dr. Michael
(Diane) Moran, Dr. Mary Lynn
Moran, Christa (Matthew) Roy; nine
loving great-grandchildren. He was
the dear brother of the late Victor
Rose.
Interment at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery.

AARON SCHMALBERG, 77, of
Mason, Ohio, died Aug. 28, 2003.

He is survived by his sister, Elaine
Zahs of West Bloomfield.

HARRY STOFFER, 97, of
Southfield, died Aug. 29, 2003. He
was a painter and decorator.
Mr. Stoffer is survived by his
daughter and son-in-law, Beatrice
and Lawrence Stein of Farmington
Hills; son and daughter-in-law, Dr.
Sheldon and Phyllis Stoffer of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Steve and
Marilyn Stein, Gary and Monique
Stein, Sharon and Daniel Meyer,
Lori and Reuben Rashty, Meira
Aliyah; great-grandchildren, Eric,
Ariel, Dava and Aliyah Stein,
Melissa and Marc Meyer, Jamie,
Jacob and Benjmain Rashty; sister,
Anne Fogel; brother and sister-in-
law, Dr. Benjamin and Rose Stoffer;
brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
Irwin Sherman, Dorothy Sherman.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Mary Stoffer; devoted father of
the late Lillian Stoffer; dear brother
of the late Ida Berger and the late
Julius Stoffer; loving companion of
the late Betty Brown.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to any
Jewish charity or a charity of one's
choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

FLORENCE TACHMAN, 90, of
Southfield, died Aug. 30, 2003.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Raymond and Penny
Tachman of Grand Rapids; daughters
and sons-in-law, Diane and Lou
Frederick of Southfield, Marsha and
Sam Krinsky of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sis-
ters, Marilyn Zaron of Woodland
