Sunday, May 25 at 12:30 p.m.

at the Veterans Section of their cemetery

Kappa honor society. Mrs. Siegel
also studied art under William
Tobey. It was in these studies that
she developed her original style of
yarn painting.
Mrs. Siegel was featured in the
book Too Busy to Count the Years,
an anthology of remarkable senior
citizens.
She is survived by her daughter
and sons-in-law, Iris Sandler, Julie
Sandler and Seymour Bodner;
grandchildren, Pat Welch Schutz
and Ron Schutz, Robin Sandler,
Julie A. Sandler, Ginny and
Howard Berg, Paul Bodner, JoAnn
and Mark Kaylin, Jane Williams,
Liz and Todd Kirschner; 10 great-
grandchildren.
She was the wife of the late
Joseph Siegel; mother of the late
Ellen Bodner.
A private funeral service was held
in Hollywood, Fla.

LEONARD SOLTAR, 84, former
Detroiter of Chicago, died May 12,
2003.
Born in Detroit in 1919, Mr.
Soltar attended Wayne University
and was about six months from
completing his degree when, in
response to the Japanese attack on
Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the
U.S. Army Air Corps. As a lieu-
tenant for the U.S. Eighth Air
Force, he was stationed in England,
Belgium and France.
After his military career ended in
September 1945, Mr. Soltar
returned to Detroit. He married
and entered the family business,
Fullerton Construction Company,
founded by his father, Benjamin
Soltar, joined by his two brothers,
Arthur and Norman.
After their father died, Arthur
and Norman moved to California
to open a west coast office of the
company, leaving Leonard in
charge of the Detroit office. As
business opportunities increased on
the west coast, Leonard decided to
join his brothers in the California
office, relocating the company
from Detroit in the early 1960s.
One joint venture with Detroit's
Weiss Corporation. Mr. Soltar was
offered an opportunity to work
with Weiss in 1967. Returning to
suburban Detroit, he became adept
at helping the company secure
business in the 1970s and 1980s
and was with them for 33 years.
