Shalom Street, the Address for Jewish
Discovery, wants photos and videos rep-
resenting lifecycle events and significant
Jewish family events for permanent use
in "The Sharing Home" exhibit.
Shalom Street is an interactive Jewish
learning experience being designed for
the Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit. Photographs of a
baby naming, a bris, first day of religious
school and religious or secular high
school graduation are requested. Videos
of a bar/bat mitzvah, a home video of a
trip to Israel including the major sites
and a wedding video also are needed.
Other photos and videos of Jewish holi-
day commemorations and celebrations
will be taken into consideration to
include in the exhibit.
All items should be submitted to the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield by May 9. Images will be
permanently on display in the new
interactive learning center. Videos will be
edited to a short duration of footage and
participants will sign a release form for
use of the photo/video. All items should
include the sender's name, address, tele-
phone number and e-mail address.
Those not selected will be available for
pick up at the JCC in June.
The interactive center will include an
array of exhibits and activities to teach
children and their families about
Judaism and Jewish culture. The facility
will be opened to the public and school
groups in November.
Shalom Street is sponsored by the
Ford Motor Company Fund and will be
located within the Harry and Jeanette
Weinberg Judaic Enrichment Center.
