Q: As my family is trying to find a weekend
for the entire family to come to Detroit for
my mother's unveiling,. we've been asking,
"Is there a:religious requirement that an
unveiling take place?" What is the answer?
A:
There's no religious requirement that
an unveiling must take place and it shouldn't
become a second funeral. Many families and, ,
if desited, friends come together to mark the
placing of a stone. Some gather privately;
some ask their Rabbi to join them; and others
conduct a brief service on their own.
