Anniversary Salute
Congregation
B'nai Moshe will
honor Rabbi Elliot
Pachter April 5-6
on his 10th
anniversary there.
At services on
Shabbat morning,
April 5, members
of the congrega-
tion, along with
Rabbi Pachter
members of the
rabbi's extended
family, will participate. Cantor Earl
Berris and students from B'nai Moshe's
LIFE program will perform a song dedi-
cated in honor of Rabbi Pachter. Dr.
Mark Smiley, headmaster of Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit and a
close friend of Rabbi Pachter, will deliver
a d'var Torah. A kiddush luncheon,
sponsored by the sisterhood and men's
club, will follow services.
Sunday, April 6, will feature the
"Perfect 10" party and auction. From 4-
5:30 p.m., there will be activities for
families with children, music, dancing, a
balloon auction and more. From 5:30-
6:30 p.m., there will be a program in the
main sanctuary featuring Rabbi Pachter's
mentor, Rabbi William Lebeau of the
Jewish Theological Seminary of
America. From 6:30-8 p.m., there will
be a "roaming dinner" and music.
Party ticket donations are $36 for
adults, $12 for children 12 and younger.
A special alcove in the synagogue
lobby will be dedicated the weekend of
the celebration; it is a news and informa-
tion center for B'nai Moshe members,
guests and visitors. Donations for the
alcove, tribute book, party and auction
can be made at many different levels.
