her bat mitzvah
Friday, Jan. 31, at
Temple Israel. Her
excited grandparents
are Evelyn Pianin and
Leonard Pianin, Sylvia
and Irving Ross.
Rachel is in the choir at Walled Lake
Middle School and also sings in Temple
Israel's junior choir. She enjoys computers,
working with animals and playing video
games. Her most meaningful mitzvah proj-
ect was collecting money on Halloween for
the Cure for Cancer Research Fund.

Dana is an honor student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. She was on Hillel's cross
country, volleyball and basketball teams.
She also plays softball and soccer and enjoys
dancing. For her mitzvah project, Dana
volunteered at Yad Ezra in Berkley and
assisted at the Fleischman Residence in
West Bloomfield.
Ashley Nicole Trotsky
will celebrate her bat
mitzvah on Saturday,
Feb. 1, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. She is the
daughter of Tracey and
Alan Trotsky and sister
of Alyssa. Proud grand-
parents are Ann and
Paul Epstein and-Elinor
and Morton Trotsky
Ashley attends Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills, where she is an honor
student. She enjoys tennis, dance, music,
the computer, skiing, softball and spending
summers at Tamarack Camps. Ashley com-
pleted her 13-mitzvot program, which
included making lunches for the homeless
and volunteering during High Holiday
services in the 5-year-old room at Adat
Shalom.
