EMMA LAZAROFF SCHAVER,

of blessed memory

NORMAN FLESCHER, 73, of Scottsdale,
Ariz., died Jan. 25, 2003. He was a tailor in
the clothing business.
Mr. Flescher is survived by his wife,
Audrey Remer Flescher; daughters and sons-
in-law, Barbara and Chuck Albert of
California, Arleen and Brad Reetz of
California, Ann Flescher of Lansing and
partner, Dawn Mead; stepchildren, Melinda
Remer and Marty Teiber, David and Lori
Remer; grandchildren, Steven and _Angela
Sorkin, Eric and Cindy Albert, Wendy
Albert, Bridgette Reetz and Brian Bush,
Scott Reetz, Ian and Monica Rosenfield,
Matthew Rosenfield, Samantha Teiber,
Amanda Remer, Derek Remer; great-grand-
children, Sydney Reetz, Shayna Sorkin,
Trevor Sorkin; sister, Fay Munzer of Israel.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Ruth Flescher.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of
the Valley, Eckstein Center, 9494 East
Becker Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.

She and her dear husband, Morris, also of blessed memory, have
been mainstays of the entire Jewish community since World War II,
and were among the early founders of Bar-Ilan University. Later,
Emma created the Morris L. and Emma Schaver Yiddish Chair at
Bar-Ilan under the auspices of the Rena Costa Yiddish Center,
endowed the Yiddish library and was instrumental in the granting of
Masters and Doctorate degrees in Yiddish. The Schaver name is
synonymous with countless Jewish organizations and she will be
dearly missed by our entire community.

May her son and family know no more sorrow.

JOSEPH KORNOV, 85, of Southfield,

died Jan. 23, 2003.
He is survived by his daughter, Lorell
Ruthfield of Sunrise, Fla.; sisters, Ann
Zimmerman of Hollywood, Fla., Ida Rosner
of West Bloomfield; grandson, Scott
Ruthfield. He was the beloved husband of
the late Mae Kornov.
Contributions may be made to a charity
of one's choice. Services and interment at
Hebrew Memorial Park. Arrangements by
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

SUZANNE DEBORAH LEE, 39, of

Cleveland, Ohio, died Jan. 21, 2003.
She is survived by her father and step-
mother, Tony and Ilene Lee of Farmington
Hills; sisters and brother-in-law, Paula and
Larry Gunsberg of Farmington Hills,
Maggie Lee of Farmington Hills; brother,
Danny Lee of Farmington Hills.
Interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery in
Cleveland. Contributions may be made to

West Bloomfield, MI 48323 or to the Jewish

SIDNEY LINN, 89, of Seattle, Wash., died
Jan. 27, 2003. He was a manager at
Belvedere Construction Company and a vet-
eran of the Spanish Civil War; from 1936-
1938, he was part of the International
Brigade.
Mr. Sidney is survived by his daughters
and sons-in-law, Nancy and Joseph Pearl of
Seattle, Susan Linn and Clifford Craine of
Massachusetts; grandchildren, Elizabeth and
Anand Raman, Katherine Pearl, Joshua and
Michelle Craine, Sasha Craine; brother,
Irving Linn of New Mexico; brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, Milton and Marion Bates.
He was the beloved husband of the late
