NATHAN KULBERSH, 84, of
Florida, died Aug. 26, 2002. He
was a retired chief engineer of the
handtool division of Sargent and
Company in Connecticut. He was
also a graduate of MIT, member of
MIT Alumni Association, member
of B'nai Jacob Temple in
Connecticut, .member of Boston
Latin School and a member of
Temple Beth El in Bradenton, Fla.
Mr. Kulbersh is survived by his
wife of 60 years, Anna Kulbersh;
sons, Richard Kulbersh of
Bloomfield Hills, Michael M.
Kulbersh of Florida, Elliot S.
Kulbersh of Southfield; sister,
Sophie Singal of Wisconsin; broth-
er, Benjamin Kulbersh of Israel;
grandchildren, Natalie and Arielle
Kulbersh and Jenna and Dana
Kulbersh.
Interment in Florida.

MORRIS LESSEN, 85, of Boca
Raton, Fla., died Aug. 29, 2002.
He was the former owner of a
paint manufacturing company and
served in the U.S. Army during
World War II for four and a half
years.
Mr. Lessen is survived by his
wife of 60 years, Beverly Lessen;
daughters and son-in-law, Carol
Gitzendanner of the United Arab
Emirates, Joan and Ira Firestone of
Bloomfield Hills; son and daugh-

Southfield, died Aug. 26, 2002. He
was the owner of Admiral Chrome
Corporation.

RITA LENA PITCOFF, 93, of
Massachusetts, died Aug. 24, 2002.
She was educated in Meridian,
Conn., schools and received a bach-
elor of arts degree from Boston
University. In addition she took
post-graduate and adult education
classes at Yale and Radcliff.
After college, Mrs. Pitcoff, taught
English as a second language in
Waterbury, Conn; she then taught
for many years in the Salem, Mass.,
public schools.
She was active in the League of
Women Voters, the American
Association of University Women,
the sisterhood of Temple Shalom.
For many years, Mrs. Pitcoff served
as a volunteer at Salem Hospital. A
bequest establishes the Rita L.
(Cheikin) Pitcoff Memorial Fund to
help perpetuate the program at
Boston College to teach immigrants
English as a second language.
Mrs. Pitcoff is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Joel and Sheila
Pitcoff of Detroit; grandson, Stefan
Pitcoff; sister-in-law, Marcia
Cheikin. Mrs. Pitcoff was the
beloved wife of the late Albert
Pitcoff; adoring mother of the late
Robert Pitcoff; loving sister of the
late Betty Cheikin, the late Elsie
Berson and the late Max Cheikin;
dear sister-in-law of the late
Herman Berson and the late Jennie
Pitcoff.
