STAR DELI

STAR'S TRAYS CAN'T BE BEAT
FOR QUALITY & PRICE!

IS ONE OF THE BEST CARRY OUT ONLY
RESTAURANTS IN AMERICA!

doing two or three trays a week was
big stuff ... Now its just a fair week
when Star does 100.
Last year was the first time in 28
years that Sid Neuman took a sick .
leave from the delicatessen ... For 26
years he had worked every day except
three days yearly ... Rosh Hashanah
and Yom Kippur.
He took it twice ... for two months
each time ... The first because of emer-
gency surgery ... and the second due
to elective surgery.
In both instances, when so many of
the hospital staff lauded him on his
great carryout delicatessen ... Sid
would.smile in the knowledge that
this former Polish immigrant who
tasted his first corned beef sandwich in
1956 ... after coming to the United
States ... has made so many people
happy.
Star Deli is celebrating its 28th
anniversary with great pride ... That its
high quality of food has never dimin-
ished ... That it is listed in America's
best delicatessen publications.
But the growth of Star Deli into a
revered institution with few equals
anywhere brings the greatest moments
of satisfaction.
WHAT WITH BEING parents
themselves, Scott and Kathy Rubin
can well understand the problems that
go with the present baby-sitter short-
age situation.
Restaurants are feeling the scarcity
with mom and dad not going out to
dinner as usual.
I think this is the first time I've ever
heard of a restaurant giving free meals
to children ages 12 and under on a
regular basis ... not just a special occa-
sion or offer.
It is happening now on "Family
Night" every Sunday from 5 p.m. at
Scott's Justin & Jordyn Chophouse ...
corner of Fourth and Lafayette in
Royal Oak.
Youngsters order from Justin &
Jordyn Chophouse's well-thought-of
kid's menu ... and pay nothing.
GET WELL WISHES ...to Big
Daddy's boss, Rick Rogow.
YOU USUALLY DON'T have to
ask Marvin Yagoda, owner of Marvin's
Marvelous Mechanical Museum 'on
Orchard Lake Road in Farmington
Hills, to open his mouth.
But you will now if you want to see
the eight or 10 back teeth with tattoos
on them ... including one with a
Jewish star ... and another with an
American flag.
Marvin and son Jeremy's delivery
now of almost everything at the muse-
urn, for home and hall parties, is
