Detroiter of San Diego, died June 21,
2002. He attended and graduated
from the Yeshiva High School in
Chicago. He also attended the Detroit
Institute of Technology.
Mr. Sterns started a band with Mel
Ball and played the South Haven cir-
cuit. He then worked with his father,
the late Allen Manny Sterns, in the
scrap metal business in Detroit. He
continued in the metal business in San
Diego.
His interests included the pursuit of
Kabbalah studies and the love of jazz
music. He regularly attended an
Orthodox synagogue every Sabbath
and for holidays.
He is survived by sons and daugh-
ter-in-law, Dr. Jordan Sterns of
Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Daniel and
Susan Sterns of San Juan Capistrano,
Calif.; daughter and son-in-law,
Jennifer and. David Goode of San
Diego; seven grandchildren; former
wife, Marcia Sterns of La Mesa, Calif.;
brothers and sister-in-law, Alvin Sterns
of West Bloomfield, Franklin and
Deborah Sterns of Winn6tka, Calif.;
sister, Judy (Sterns) Rosen of
Southfield; aunt, Lillian Berman of
West Bloomfield. He was the son of
the late and beloved Esther and
Manny Sterns; grandson of the late
and beloved Daniel Temchin.
Services were held at Olam Haemes
Jewish Lawn in San Diego.
