MAZOR, 66, rabbi at Beth Emeth
Congregation in Sun City West,
.Ariz., died on June 18,
2002. Rabbi Mazor was
born in Poland, but fled
to Russia with his fami-
ly during World War II.

as a youngster as part of
the Children of Tehran
Youth Aliyah and was
raised in orphanages in Israel.
He received both his secular and
religious education at yeshivot in
Israel and received two rabbinical
ordinations, one from Harav Hagaon
Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook and one
from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
After immigrating to the United
States, Rabbi Mazor taught in sever-
al Hebrew schools and yeshivot. He
began his career as a pulpit rabbi in
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Before beginning
his responsibilities at Beth Emeth
Congregation, Rabbi Mazor was the
rabbi at congregations on Staten
Island, N.Y., and Fresno, Calif.
Rabbi Mazor is survived by his
children, Avishay and Barbara
Mazor; and their children, Abba
Natan and Jacob of Brooklyn, Adam
and Akiko Mazor of Brooklyn,
Tanya Mazor-Posner and Chanan
Posner of Southfield.

DORF, 90, of Royal Oak, died June
26, 2002.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Daniel J. and
Phyllis Pliskow of Royal Oak;
daughter, Elaine Adler of Lexington,
Mass.; grandchildren, Stephanie Joy
and Kelly MacDonald, Sharon Lynn
