Israel Bonds Hosts
Political Analyst
Lenny Ben-David, internationally recog-
nized political analyst and media expert,
will address a June 12 Israel Bonds gath-
ering honoring Melba Winer for her sup-
port of the State of Israel, the communi-
ty and the Israel Bonds campaign.
From August 1997 to August 2000,
prior to becoming a consultant to gov-
ernment and industry, Ben-David served
as deputy chief of mission at Israel's
embassy in Washington, D.C. He held
senior posts in the American Israel Public
Affairs Committee for 25 years in both
Washington and Israel. After 10 years of
employment in Washington as AIPAC's
director of information and research, he
opened AIPAC's first Israel office in
1982, directing it for almost 15 years.

JARC's Executive Director Joyce Keller
has won the 2002 Spirit of Service
Honor Award presented by the Michigan
Assisted Living
Association (MALA)
and Bator & Berlin
P.C. .
This award recog-
nizes outstanding ded-
ication and commit-
ment to community-
based services and

was presented on
May 14 at the anniial
'MALA luncheon in Lansing.
MALA, a nonprofit organization, rep-
resents 4,300 assisted living, residential
care and vocational programs, and serves
32,000 individuals statewide. The per-
sons receiving services have developmen-
tal disabilities, psychiatric disabilities,
physical disabilities, closed head injuries,
or are elderly.
During Keller's 24-year tenure as
JARC's executive director, the
Farmington Hills-based agency has
grown from one group home serving six
consumers to an $8 million organization
with 19 homes and supported living pro-
grams serving almost 200 consumers.
JARC provides services to 300 families
who have a child with special needs. The
nonprofit, nonsectarian organization is
dedicated to enabling people with dis-
abilities to live full, rich lives in the com-
munity, and to providing support and
advocacy for their families.
