member of ORT and Na'amat.
They have shared interests in the
Jewish community at large, helping to
found the Detroit Jewish Historical
Society and serving on the Agency for
Jewish Education of Metropolitan
Detroit board. The Nadises are mem-
bers of the Detroit Institute of Arts and
the Detroit Symphony Orchestra
Concert series.

Beth Shalom Women
Cite Bess Lipson

The Congregation Beth Shalom
Sisterhood will honor Bess Lipson at its
donor luncheon 11 a.m. Wednesday,
May 22.
Lipson has been
actively involved at
Beth Shalom since
1958, having served as
sisterhood president
from 1975-77 and on
the presidium from
1996-98. She is now
Bess Lipson
parliamentarian.
Representing Beth,
Shalom in 1984, Lipson was the
Women's League for Conservative
Judaism Woman of Achievement hon-
oree.
Lipson served on the Beth Shalom
executive board as vice president and
recording secretary and has been the
chair of the Tree of Life sculpture for
more than 20 years.
The entertainment will feature Marty
Mandelbaum and Company presenting

Broadway Comes to Beth Shalom.
Performing artists include Laura Cable,
Crystal Wish Webster, Linda Rabin
Hammell, Mark Hammell and Brian
Golden.
There are four categories of contribu-
tions: admission, $30; patron, $36; sil-
ver, $50, golden, $100. Complimentary
babysitting is by request.
Chairs for the luncheon are Ethel
Fitzerman, Bernice Gill and Liz
Kannon. aonor ad book chair is Linda
Lublin. Other members of the commit-
tee are Marcia Able, Ellen Racusin and
Marcia Tanzman. Reservations are
