DIM SUM LUNCH SPECIALS!

Bagel, which supplies most of the local
Kroger stores with its hard-flour donuts.
The new store manager at Kroger's
West Bloomfield market is a good one ...
and well-known to the Jewish communi-
ty ... Don Rudick, a Hebrew reading
teacher at Adat Shalom Synagogue,
where he and wife Marilyn are members.
Don has been with Kroger 2 1/2 years
... and at one time worked with Harvey
Weisberg at Chatham Market ... He is
also softball coach for the Maccabi
Games ... and on the board of directors
of the Maccabi Club, which runs the
athletic competition for Jewish teens.
THE BEGINNING of many
changes to come at Big Daddy's
Parthenon in West Bloomfield has been
started by owner Rick Rogow ... No
more outside that used to be white with
blue trim ... Nov a beige color with
brown trim and black awnings and
over-the-door canopy have taken their
places ... The beige color is carried quite
handsomely also on the walls of Big
Daddy's next-door banquet room.
Coming yet will be a new menu ... and
more striking interior appearance changes.
NEXT KOSHER BUFFET by
Jeffrey Rosenberg at Adat Shalom
Synagogue on Middlebelt, Farmington
Hills, has been scheduled for Monday,
June 17 ... It will be another all-you-
can-eat Chinese walk-around with vari-
ous stations of kosher Chinese food ...
$20 adults, children $10 ... For more
info, call (248) 851-5100.
Joining Jeff now at Adat Shalom is
Mimi Markofsky ... formerly with Alan
Linker when he had Sperber's Catering
... Mimi is an accomplished baker and
cook ... with a wide knowledge of eth-
nic styles, kashruth ... and varied foods.
CUSTOMERS ARE probably hop-
ing that the new executive chef at
Paparazzi Italian restaurant in West
Bloomfield's Sugar Tree, Nicholas Voia,
brought some of those recipes he pre-
pared while at New York's fine five-star
dining spot, La Bella Vita.
THEY CERTAINLY have never for-
gotten the Powatan Club in Detroit years
back ... It's where Clara and Fred Silber
had their first date ... and wish it were
still around when they celebrate wedding
anniversary number 69 in October.
OLDIE BUT GOODIE Dept. ... Gal
suspects her boyfriend of cheating on her,
so goes out and buys a gun. She goes to
his apartment unexpectedly and, opening
the door, finds him in the arms of anoth-
er. The gal opens her purse to- take out
the gun, and as she does so, is overcome
with grief and puts it to her own head.
The boyfriend yells, "No honey,
don't do it!"
"Shut up!" she replies. "You're next!" D
