Rodgers. She was the dear sister of
the late Hy Kinzer and Bess Gonte.

SUE BAND, 73, of Oak Park, died
April 13. She was an executive sec-
retary for Jewish Family Service and
a member of the Institute of Retired
Professionals.
Ms. Band is survived by her
daughters and son-in-law, Brenda
Band of Texas, Leslie and Dale
Hirshberg of Colorado; grandsons,
Seth and Jason Hirshberg. She was
the loving daughter of the late
Bertha Grossman.

THERESA BOOKMAN, 80, of
Redford, died April 12. She was a
past member of Livonia
Congregation.
Mrs. Bookman is survived by her
husband, Nathaniel Bookman; sons,

Sherman; brothers and sisters-in-
law, Martin and Judith Herman of
Farmington Hills and Leonard and
Sondra Herman of Oak Park.

SAUL BRENNER, 77, of West
Bloomfield, died April 11. He was
the original owner of Spartan Floor
Covering for 27 years.
He is survived by his beloved
wife, Irene Brenner; son, Gary
Brenner of Boulder, Colo.; daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Jan and Gary
Alpert of West Bloomfield, Karen
and Larry Bissinger of Plano, Texas;
brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Henry
and Rita Brenner of Dana Point,
Calif.; sister, Lila Lessen; grandchil-
dren, Josh Alpert, Lindsey Alpert,
Julie Bissinger and Jeffrey Bissinger.
He was the dear brother of the late
Mildred Rowlson.
Graveside services were held at
the Nusach Hari Cemetery.

April 9.
She is survived by her beloved hus-

ter and son-in-law, Terry and Lorne

TOBY HERSEN, 89, of
Farmington Hills, died April 12.
She was born in Strykow, Poland.
Mrs. Hersen was a pharmacist. She
was also a lifelong Zionist. She and
her husband, Ben Hersen, survived
the Holocaust and came to the
United States in 1950 by way of
Sweden and Canada. A long-time
Oak Park resident, she was a mem-
ber of Na'amat and was fluent in
several languages.
