"She said there's no war, that this is
`a poor people trying to take on
America's kid in the Mideast.' "
Urdan said a young man in the
group dismissed the Jews with an exple-
tive and said they should all be killed.
Urdan, owner of Design Concepts
Inc., a Southfield advertising special-
ties company, contributed 200 Israeli
and 200 American flags for the pro-
Israeli demonstrations that took place
April 11.
Witnessing the pro-Palestinian
demonstrators made Ed Kohl of West
Bloomfield even more determined to
turn out for the April 11 event.
"I was not bothered by the protesters'
presence as they have the right in our
wonderful country to protest," Kohl
wrote in a letter to the Jewish News.
"What appalled me was their signs
equating Israeli Prime Minister Sharon
with Adolf Hider and equating Israel's
defending herself with the Holocaust.
What angered me was that their chil-
dren are being raised with hate and
ignorance of the facts."
