LOUIS WEINSTEIN, 89, of
Farmington Hills, died April 3.
He is survived by his sisters and
brother-in-law, Bessie Stone of
Farmington Hills, Sally and Joseph
Berns of Laguna Hills, Calif.; brother,
Morris Weinstein of Southfield.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to a charity of one's choice.

DR. IRVING YOUNG, 77, of West
Bloomfield, died April 3. He received
his undergraduate degree from Wayne
State University and graduated with
Alpha Omega Alpha honors as the
youngest member of the Wayne State
medical school class of 1947. He corn-
pleted his internship and residency at
Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Dr. Young served as a lieutenant in
the U.S. Army Medical Corps stationed
at Ft. Riley, Kan; He practiced internal
medicine in the Detroit area for 48
years and was one of the founders of the
Woodland Medical Group PC, where
he practiced until his retirement in
1996.
Dr. Young was published in the fields
of immunology and liver chemistry and
authored or co-authored 12 articles in
medical journals. In addition, he was on
the teaching faculty of the Wayne State
University School- of Medicine as a clin-
ical associate professor of medicine and
was a member of Sigma Xi, the scientif-
ic research society. He was also a fellow
of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Young is survived by his wife of
56 years, Bina Young; daughters and
sons-in-law, Shim Young of California,
Linda and Shlomo Raviv of California,
Naomi and Robert Zelinger of Conn.;
grandchildren, Rachel and Tali Raviv,
Jeremy and Jonathan Zelinger; brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. David and Phyllis
Young of West Bloomfield; sister and
brother-in-law, Dr. Mildred Axelrod
Grant and Dr. Abram Grant.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be directed to
the American Cancer Society.
